Team Building Benefits in the Work Place

One of the main focuses at Tell Me Outdoor Adventures is team building.  The late great Vince Lombardi once said, “Individuals commitment to a group effort-that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” You might be asking yourself how does team building actually help the work place. Below we have highlighted our the key take aways from our specifically created program.

Improve Productivity and Motivation
The definition of productivity is the quantity and quality of work completed in a give period of time. In order, to be productive we have to be motivated. That being said, motivation is more than a paycheck. Sure that is why we all go to work.  However, there has to be more behind the motivation rather than money to truly see production. Gaining trust with fellow employees and feeling confident working together makes each employee feel appreciated.

Foster Problem Solving
At Tell Me Outdoor Adventures all of team building involves skills sets to help develop problem solving under some sort of time constraint. This helps making those difficult snap decisions in the work place that much easier. Also, we focus on making meeting deadlines easier. We teach specific techniques to help manage stress in high pressure situations.

Encourage Creativity
Our program outline creativity in regards to problem solving. Thinking outside the box to come to a solution. These are all important skills that must be refined and defined. This is often where employers see their employees fail. If not given guideline often employees panic. However, our program specifically assists all team members  to think of unique way to solve problems.

Life's Obstacles

Our resort has five star amities and our obstacle course is no exception. We had this course custom made to help aid in team building. No portion of this course can be done alone. We do this course twice. Once, in the beginning of the retreat and one on the final day of the retreat. We find doing this course in the beginning to help gage where your teams strength and weaknesses are at. After, we spend the retreat focusing on working together we give this course another go to see how far you have come. This course can take 45 minutes to up 3 hours to complete. Seriously it happened.

There is four main points of this course. First, being two large piece of wood with rope attached. You will grab each piece of rope with your team member lined up behind you. You begin to “ski” to the next portion. On to the wall, where you will have to help each other over till the last person is pulled up. Then we are at the mud pit. Where you will be blinded folded swinging step to step with only the guide of your team members. Finally, we are at the ropes course where you will grab each other and balance across the course.

Below you will see a photo of our ropes course to give a better idea of what you will be against.
